Focus goals:
Postural issues | movement dysfunctions | calisthenics | Olympic lifting

Playing rugby at a competitive level was Edmund’s first introduction to the gym environment where strength and fitness (including the ‘Olympic lifts’) were an integral part of his training routine. His interest in fitness piqued, Edmund qualified as a personal trainer after his time at university whilst also playing competitive 7s. A few years later, once his playing days were over, he became fascinated with different training styles – varieties of functional movement training, even spending time in China studying Shaolin Gong Fu and gaining an understanding of Tai Chi, Qi Gong (similar to meditation), Shaolin Forms and Sanda (a type of Shaolin kick-boxing). Since then, he has been primarily training gymnastic and calisthenics for the last 6 years.

He also trained at the CHEK Institute, which taught him about corrective exercise, while advocating a holistic approach to health, wellbeing and fitness. From here, has also trained in sports massage and remedial soft tissue therapy with the North London School of Sports Massage.

Having gained a comprehensive understanding of integrated fitness, Edmund has a keen interest in corrective exercise and holistic health and uses his skills to tackle clients’ postural issues and movement dysfunction.

There is no ‘typical’ client for Edmund. Some clients turn to him because of historical injuries or movement issues but also find they benefit from his soft tissue therapy treatments. Others are athletes with committed goals, including those working to improve their Olympic lifting or gymnastics training.

Edmund has also incorporated elements of breathwork and Qi Gong into his treatment programmes, to help clients tackle stress and anxiety.

Edmund is offering personal training to clients at the Fitness Garage, and would also offer soft tissue therapy by arrangement.
